Clinical Supervision
Space to Think… Room to Grow: Why Clinical Supervision Matters
I think of supervision as being a supportive and collaborative space. Together we might notice potential blind spots and explore different, helpful interventions to help your clients.
For many counsellors, clinical supervision can feel like just another requirement — a box to tick on the path to safe, ethical practice. But the truth is, good supervision should be far more than that. It’s where we pause, reflect, and make sense of the work we do with others.
As someone who has spent years counselling and supervising professionals working with children and young people, I know how complex, creative, and emotionally layered this work can be. We hold so much — the stories, the safeguarding worries, the moments of connection, and the inevitable uncertainties. Supervision is where we can lay some of that down.
Not Just Oversight — Collaborative Support
My approach to supervision is collaborative. I don’t see myself as someone who hands down solutions, but as a thinking partner — someone who can help make sense of what’s happening in the room, even when I’m not in it. That might mean reflecting on an intervention that didn’t quite work, exploring what’s being left unsaid, or noticing a pattern that’s been playing out unnoticed.
Sometimes I’ll offer examples from my own counselling experience to help spark ideas, but supervision isn’t about copying someone else’s work — it’s about finding what fits you and your client.
Tailored to You, Not Just the Textbooks
Of course, theory has its place — and I draw on it where helpful — but I’m more interested in what’s really going on for you. I want to create a space together, where you feel safe enough to be honest, curious, and maybe even a bit vulnerable. Because that’s where the real growth happens.
Whether you’re exploring a challenging client dynamic, navigating school systems, or simply needing a space to talk through your own emotional responses, I’m here to support you — not just as a practitioner, but as a person.
Space for You, Too
We give so much to our clients. Supervision should be a place where you can breathe out a little. Where there’s space to laugh, question, feel stuck, celebrate, or just be. Especially when working with children and young people — where boundaries can blur and emotions run high — it’s essential that you feel emotionally supported too.
Thinking About Supervision? Let’s Talk.
I offer online supervision for counsellors, school-based therapists, and professionals in other caring roles. I also facilitate small reflective groups for those who value shared insight and peer learning.
Whether you’re newly qualified, experienced and stretched, or just looking for a space to reflect more deeply — you’re welcome here.
